Clinical Transformation University
Clinical Transformation in Telehealth
RubiconMD is excited to launch the first Clinical Transformation University (CTU) in the nation, with a focus on applying clinical transformation principles to implementing, adopting and scaling technology in clinical settings. The Clinical Transformation University was developed by Dr. Nwando Olayiwola, MD, MPH, FAAFP, an internationally renowned and experienced physician transformation leader and Candy Magaña, MPA, a nationally respected practice facilitator and trainer, based on their combined decades of experience leading, supporting and assisting practice transformation efforts across the globe.
The Clinical Transformation University empowers health care leaders, managers, and staff with the necessary skills to successfully implement, adopt and scale technology innovations in clinical settings, through an in-person training program and an online learning course.
What is Clinical Transformation?
Clinical Transformation applies implementation science, translational science and quality improvement principles to understand, prepare, groom, and nurture a clinical environment for success with any new changes, processes, models, innovations or technologies while assuring minimal disruption to that environment.
RubiconMD’s Commitment to Clinical Transformation
In 2017, RubiconMD made a commitment to applying the principles of clinical transformation to the implementation experience for new technology in primary care settings. Under the leadership of RubiconMD’s inaugural Chief Clinical Transformation Officer, Dr. Olayiwola, RubiconMD made an important pivot - RubiconMD would no longer position their eConsults as “technology,” but as a “transformation” to the clinical environment and experience.
RubiconMD’s Clinical Transformation team has developed a robust clinic-centered clinical transformation framework to successfully implement new technology in primary care practice settings. At the core of this approach is a heavy emphasis on relationship-building between the partners and with the clinical leadership and staff, thereby creating an environment that emphasizes trust and mutual accountability.
The CTU is an excellent program for:
Medical directors/Chief Medical Officers
Administrative leadership & staff
Practice managers and operations managers
Practice coaches/practice facilitators
Quality improvement staff
And anyone responsible for leading innovation and change in a clinical environment!
CTU Training Options
The Clinical Transformation University is offered as an in-person learning experience as well as an online course. Participants may choose either program. At the completion of both programs and required coursework, trainees will receive a Certificate of Completion from RubiconMD. Additionally, the program is accredited by the American Academy of Family Physicians, so participants will receive a Continuing Medical Education/Continuing Education Certificate under the Clinical Transformation Specialist in Education Program upon completion.
(1) In-person: A two-day in-person learning experience, taught by renowned Clinical Transformation experts; followed by a 6 month longitudinal collaborative for additional support, or
(2) Online: A five-hour self-paced online course culminating in a capstone experience, supported by a RubiconMD expert facilitator.
