What you'll learn:
- Apply risk-based surveillance strategies to close screening gaps for diabetes complications, including renal, neurologic, cardiovascular, and ocular complications
- Adjust and sequence antihyperglycemic therapy when multiple concurrent comorbidities or complications affect treatment priorities
- Manage common diabetes complications in primary care, including neuropathy symptom control and kidney risk reduction
- Evaluate and manage complications that arise during GLP-1 and SGLT2 therapy, including when treatment modification or discontinuation is warranted
- Determine when diabetes complications can be managed in primary care versus when eConsult input or face-to-face specialty referral is appropriate, reducing unnecessary referrals
